Swindon Parish Council has a vacancy for a new Councillor. As no by-election was called when the vacancy was advertised the Council may now fill the vacancy by co-option.
Interested parties should submit a short CV or statement explaining why they would like to join the Council.
Becoming a Councillor is a rewarding form of public service. Councillors offer their individual skills and abilities in the interest of the wellbeing of the area, and are expected
to balance the needs and interests of voters, residents and the council without promoting personal interests. Collectively, Councillors debate and vote on decisions that form the
policy of the Council.
The next few months should be an interesting time for Swindon Parish Council, as it deals with the following matters:-
-
- Eligibility for Quality Council status
- Allotment holders liability for injury caused to trespassers
- Parish Councils role in Emergency Planning
- The Future Role and Activities of the Council
- Whether or not to pursue a replacement Village Sign
The Council meets in Swindon Village Primary School at 7.30pm on the second Tuesday of every month.
