February 2006
Dear colleague,
Re: Invitation to attend an
NHS Reconfiguration consultation drop in session
As you probably know, a consultation is underway regarding proposals to change the boundaries and functions of local Primary Care Trusts (PCTS) and the Strategic Health Authority (SHA). The consultation is being run locally by the Avon, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire SHA on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health. The consultation will conclude on 22 March 2006.
There are a number of ways that you can have your say:
- Call in at one of 12 drop in sessions being run in February and March (list attached). The Cheltenham and Tewkesbury PCT drop in session is being held on 7 March (any time between 3 – 6 p.m.) at PCT headquarters (address above)
- Complete a questionnaire (online or by free post)
- Write to the SHA (by e mail or by free post)
- If you are part of a user, community or voluntary sector group or network you can invite the SHA to attend a local meeting to discuss the proposals for change between 14th December and 22nd March 2006. To request a meeting contact Gisela Norman on gisela.norman@agwsha.nhs.uk or ring on 01249 858 622
You can find out more details by looking at the consultation web site on www.agwsha.nhsuk/nhsreconfiguration. Or ring 01249 858 640 to ask for a printed copy of the consultation document.
If you would like to attend the PCT’s drop in session on 7 March, I would be grateful if you could let me, or my PA Sheldene Pearson, know by Friday 3 March so that we can plan for numbers of attendees.
Best regards,
Becky Parish, Assistant Director, Community Involvement
Consultation drop in sessions
The 12 drop in sessions are open to any interested stakeholders or members of the public. You can call in for as long or as little as you want – turn up when it is convenient for you in the time period the session will run for.
At each drop in session there will be members of the SHA with whom you can discuss the proposals for change and explain your views.
