Train and Road Chaos as Lorry hits Rail Bridge.
At 13.45 on Monday November 9th an artic lorry driver misjudged height of the railway bridge over Hyde Lane and collided with it. The vehicle scraped through under the bridge with serious damage to the trailer as can be seen from the photographs.

Those who follow the workings of the Parish Council will be aware that we have been campaigning for many years for better control over the number and size of vehicles using Hyde Lane. So far we have been unable to get positive action from Cheltenham Borough Council or GCC.

Lorries that recognise that they cannot pass under the bridge cause further mayhem when they try to find an escape route; either through the village on the West side, or by reversing up Hyde Lane as far as the crescent that provides the first turning area but then only at the expense of the kerb and grassed area.
